New turning point in life story---wow

May 15, 2017

After Bo Easons seminar on learning to tell our life changing moments / stories I realized that the story I should start with for my communication business happened in 7th grade.  Bo said these moments often happen around then---I wonder why.

Anyway, as you know I thought my story about becoming a better communicator started when I moved from Michigan to Washington two and one-half years ago.  Actually,  it started way before then!

Here it is--just like you will hear it in upcoming videos.  "In seventh grade Randy and I were the two most popular boys in school.  Then one day..... Jim a bully, challenged me to a fight in front of the entire class.  His challenge was loud enough to where everyone in the room knew what was happening.  My mind raced trying to figure out a way to avoid that fight.  I had never been in a fist fight before and the idea of getting hit in the face scared the heck out of me.  Randy was looking on, certain I would end the challenge quickly.  After what seemed like a long time---I'm sure it was just a few seconds--I let that bully know, and Randy and the entire class, I was not going to fight.  I was going to chicken out.  That decision ended my life as an extrovert and being able to easily talk to and enjoy people.  It changed the course of my life and set me on a path of shyness--often afraid of people,  isolation and loneliness--that lasted THIRTY YEARS!!!!!!

I will continue this next week and tie it into my move to Washington that influenced me to become the person I have always been.  Presently, in Seattle at Uptown Espresso and the parking meter is running out--gotta go.  Guess what else it is doing in Seattle today????  raining--surprised? I'm not.
